At the last apartment choice, following the Cenobites through the opening accepts their offer. Staying in the apartment until the opening closes refuses it. Published walkthroughs describe reloading the final autosave to choose the other outcome.
When does the ending choice happen?
The choice comes after the heart-hunt sequence, the return to Sunny and the final Labyrinth traversal. If you are still carrying out a named objective involving a heart or a major boss, you have not reached the final decision yet.
The final stretch still asks you to move through unstable terrain and use the Labyrinth’s geometry. Finish that sequence before looking for the apartment choice. An earlier apartment scene does not automatically mean you should wait there for an ending.
Accept the offer
When the final choice is active, walk through the opening after the Cenobites. That action selects acceptance. PowerPyx associates this outcome with Experience Beyond Limits.
The guide deliberately describes the action rather than labelling the result “good” or “bad.” Those labels are interpretations of the story, while crossing the opening is the concrete input that distinguishes the outcome.
Refuse the offer
Remain in the apartment and allow the opening to close. Do not follow the Cenobites through it. The published trophy reference associates this outcome with Human After All.
Waiting is the choice here. If you are accustomed to immediately walking toward each new opening, stop and let the scene resolve. You are not looking for a separate refusal dialogue option elsewhere in the apartment.
How to see both outcomes
- Complete one of the two final actions.
- Return to the main menu after the outcome finishes.
- Load the final autosave described in the published route.
- Make the opposite choice at the same decision.
Keep your late manual saves until you have confirmed that the relevant autosave is still available. Do not overwrite or replace the run before checking the load menu. See the save guide for broader recovery planning.
Do earlier collectibles decide the final choice?
The cited walkthroughs describe these two outcomes as a decision made in the last scene. They do not present collecting every note, pillar or firearm as the selector between accepting and refusing.
That does not make collectibles irrelevant to separate trophies or completion goals. Keep those tasks distinct: the ending action resolves the story choice; optional items and combat challenges have their own requirements. If a trophy does not appear, record the platform and game version before assuming you chose the wrong ending.
