THE SHORT ANSWER

When the apartment repeats, wait for the writing on the wall, then turn around and enter the dark passage. The loop ends by changing direction, not by repeatedly opening the apartment door.

Follow Sunny into the Labyrinth

The opening begins with Aidan, the puzzle box and a breach in the apartment wall. Go through the breach to enter the stone corridors. When a gate blocks the obvious route, inspect the side passage rather than trying to force the gate.

Follow Sunny’s appearances through the chain-filled rooms and narrow openings. A passage that looks decorative can be the actual route: check at crouching height before assuming you are at a dead end. Keep looking for the next navigable opening instead of treating each barred doorway as a puzzle.

Pass the pressure plates and closing gates

  1. Stand on the pressure plate to open the route ahead.
  2. Face the exit before you move, then sprint through the opening.
  3. At the lower closing gate, sprint and slide beneath it. Check your own key bindings or controller prompts; the action combines forward movement, sprinting and crouching.

If you arrive too late, return to the plate and reset your position. Trying the same run while facing away from the destination wastes the window. Treat this as a short movement test, not a search for another key.

Solve the repeating apartment

After the red tunnel, the apartment seems to send you back into itself. Continue until the message on the wall appears. Its instruction points toward darkness. Turn back and look for the newly available dark corridor.

This is a change-of-direction puzzle. The useful observation is that the environment has changed behind you. If you keep repeating the same doorway, stop, inspect the writing and look back through the route you just used. Do not restart your game simply because the room repeats.

Use the Genesis Configuration for the first time

The following sequence introduces transferring fire and moving blocks. Read the interaction prompts carefully: you are using the box on environmental targets, not searching your inventory for a conventional door key.

  • Take fire from the indicated source and send it to the receiving target.
  • Move the marked blocks and platform to make a continuous route.
  • Check that the platform is within walking distance before stepping forward.

If an interaction appears unavailable, change your aim to the target itself and check whether the previous step is complete. The lesson carries into later puzzles: fire, moving geometry and traversal often form one chain of actions. See the Genesis Configuration guide for how to recognise those situations.

What comes next

The prologue leads into captivity and the objective Escape the Cult. Its first locked doors depend on physical key items rather than repeating the opening movement puzzle. Continue with the Scarlet Church route once you regain control.

If you are following a completion run, begin keeping separate saves when the game makes manual saving available. Our save and missables guide explains why retaining earlier progress is more useful than repeatedly overwriting one slot.
